Dear visitor to the North Estonia Medical Centre!
Generally speaking, you will need a referral to see a medical specialist, which you can obtain from your family physician or another medical specialist.
A referral is not required for appointments with a gynaecologist, dermatologist, venereologist, psychiatrist, or ophthalmologist, or when visiting the emergency care department.
If you do not have a referral or wish to receive healthcare outside the waiting list, you can book a paid consultation with a specialist.
When you come for your appointment, please bring an identity document and your bank card or cash to pay the appointment fee.
At the North Estonia Medical Centre, patients are generally attended to in Estonian. If necessary, the patient is responsible for arranging interpretation, either by involving a professional interpreter in the treatment process or by asking a relative who speaks Estonian to assist. With the healthcare professional’s consent, communication may also take place in another language, provided that the professional has a sufficient command of that language to provide high-quality healthcare services.
If you are coming without an interpreter, you can use an online translation tool on your own device, such as a smartphone. The patient is responsible for the accuracy of the translation and for the processing of data during the translation process.
An exception to this is emergency care, which is provided regardless of the patient’s language of communication. Emergency care refers to medical care which, if not provided, could result in the patient’s death or a rapid and serious deterioration in their health.
